Toile Cire'e recreated 14th Century French Floor Coverings

All Art By Antosa ©

Hi!

As an Art Historian (MA from Aberdeen University) I not only love creating Art but also researching into ancient methods artists etc and finding out the Whys? Who's? & What's? .

My facination with14th Century French Floor Coverings 'Toile Cire'e' came after a special trip to Paris in 2010 with my  Sister Mare-ona. I simply adored the trip which was the first 4 days of Springtime and we had a super artisticly relaxing, fun time & we both simply fell in love with and were inspired by Paris.

After the trip I decided to do a 360degree turn around and I changed my apartment into French shabby chic-ish? the end result are some of the floor coverings seen here

And so my new passion & research into 14th Century French Floor Coverings began!

But I, being poor, have only my dreams;

I have spread my dreams under your feet;

Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

1899 W B Yeats

I will over time share with you a little of the history of the 'Toile Cire'e which I hope will facinate you as much as it does me. And as my Creative business grows I look forward to creating these magical carpets for you to enjoy too!

Have a good day :) x
